Website Design - Stage
3
Designing the site
Creating the
website itself is the part of the design
process where we turn your vision into a reality.
One of the following
categories will describes you best:
You
know exactly what you want
It may be that
you have a clear idea of what you want - you already have the
text and images and know exactly how you want it to look, where you
want the navigation to appear, which fonts
you like, if you'd like
,
or text links, for example.
If this is the
case, our main skills are listening and having the technical knowledge
necessary to convert what you want into a website that meets (or exceeds)
your expectations. We will ensure that your site works well when viewed
on any computer, that it loads quickly and also advise how certain choices will impact on search
engine visibility.
If you provide
us with a precise specification, we normally still suggest changes that
could make the content more suitable for a website format, will make
it appear higher with search engines, etc, however you're the client
and if you tell us that you want your website a certain way, we'll make
it so.
You
are looking for input to shape your website
In our initial
discussion, we still start from the same point - what you want,
however, here, we focus on what you want in terms of the customers you'd
like to attract, the products or information you have, what your
own focus is, what colour schemes you like, etc.
We then take
you through a step by step process. We start by discussing the high
level elements - such as the overall shape of your website, the generic
look and feel, page titles, navigation options, etc.
We then gradually
work our way down to the detail - the content of each page, where images
should go and what those images will be ... and numerous other factors
that together create a unique, impactful website.
You'd
like us to create content for you
At your request,
we can work together to create content for your website - in the form
of text and/or illustrations.
Martin is
a Psychology Graduate (BSc. Hons), creates cryptic crosswords for
The Big Issue and has previously worked as a Business Manager in London.
He is a wordsmith with a talent for writing text that is well-structured
and that grabs your attention and holds it.
Allison is
an Arts graduate from Goldsmith University College and her illustrations
and paintings have appeared on magazines covers, in board games, various
promotional material and websites. If you commission Allison to include
illustrations or a logo,
then it will be provided in a high-resolution format for printing,
as well as a low-resolution (and therefore quicker to upload) format
for the internet.
