The most important search engines are:

MSN Search
These account for 80% of searches and they also pass their information on to other search engines. We therefore manually visit each of these search engines and submit your website to them, including the local variants (e.g. if your website is in the UK, we will submit it to Google.com, Google.co.uk, Yahoo.com, Yahoo.co.uk and MSN.com).
What about the other 20%?
We use an automated process that simulates a manual submission to another 50 - 70 search engines (depending on which country you are based in and which languages your site is written in). These 50 - 70 search engines will include:
Alexa
Gigablast
Snap &
DMOZ (also called the Open Directory
Project and not strictly speaking a search engine. Each site is reviewed
by a volunteer, so it can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months
for your site to appear with DMOZ).
By manually submitting your website and generating incoming links to your site, this also increases the priority that search engines will place on indexing your site, meaning it will appear in the search results sooner. In Google there is someone who looks at every single website before it is accepted and having an attractive and professional website is a definite bonus.
