Website Designer - Site creation, search engine optimization and link
building
All search engines
value incoming links to a site and use this as one of their key determinants
in how highly a site appears in their search results. Google's version
of this is called 'PageRank', which uses an exponential scale where
a new website will have a PageRank of 0, PageRank 1 indicates
a handful of links going to it and so on, up to 10, which very few pages
achieve (such as Google's own home page). The higher your PageRank,
the higher you will appear in the search results.
If your site
has a Page Rank of 3 or higher, that is normally sufficient for it to
appear well for a range of relevant search results - provided that your
site is optimized for search
engines in other ways and is not in a highly competitive category
(such as website design itself). If it is, a Page Rank of 4 or more
may be required.
To find out
what the Page Rank of any website is, please type in the domain name
below and click Check. You'll need to include the www. This references several different online checking programmes and some may show 'Datacenter Down'. If this happens, don't worry, it's not a reflection on your site and just be patient and your result will be displayed in due course.
